Amy Pazahanick Named PTR Georgia Member of the Year
Hilton Head Island, SC – – Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) presented its annual awards this week during the PTR International Tennis Symposium. The event, which includes more than 40 educational presentations for tennis coaches, is underway February 11-15, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Amy Pazahanick, of Atlanta, Georgia, has been named PTR Member of the Year for the State. This award is presented to a member who has shown dedication and diligence in promoting and supporting tennis and PTR.
Pazahanick manages DeKalb Tennis Center, home of Agape Tennis Academy, a 17-court facility she founded in Atlanta in 2012. One hundred USTA and ALTA (Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association) teams play at Agape each year, and it hosts the USTA and ALTA City Finals. Agape serves more than 30,000 tennis players with a staff of 15. In 2017, Pazahanick was voted Tennis Director of the Year and Agape Tennis Academy was named 10 and Under Program of the Year by the Georgia Professional Tennis Association (GPTA). In 2018, Pazahanick’s Agape was presented the GPTA Program of the Year Award.
Agape is also actively involved in local, national and international community outreach, most recently fundraising for Heart for Africa, and organization that cares for more than 200 orphans. Agape has also received GPTA’s Community Outreach Program of the Year award.
A PTR Professional since 2006, Pazahanick is also certified by the USTA in Sports Science and High Performance Player Development, as well as in Mental Toughness Training by the Human Performance Institute. She and some of her staff are also certified with the Professional Pickleball Registry.
PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 16,500 members in 125 countries. It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization. PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and serving tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
